Rootastes’ desserts are now a thing- just in time for fall
Lunch isn’t complete without dessert, right? We thought so, which is why our team went to the kitchen to whip up a simple dessert that could please almost anyone. After a brainstorming session, we settled on pomegranate soy panna cotta.
We like panna cotta quite a lotta
Panna cotta is a traditional Italian dessert of sweetened cream thickened with gelatin and served with fruit. It’s like a super luxe version of yogurt basically.
To satisfy more of our customers, we used soymilk as a base instead. Our panna cotta is perfect for those avoiding dairy, fat, or who are following a vegan diet.
Superfood of fall
Our pomegranate panna cotta is obviously topped and infused with pomegranate seeds. Fall is peak season for pomegranates, and we’re certainly taking advantage.
The fruit is well known for its antioxidants, and it has been found that pomegranate juice has three times the antioxidant activity of green tea.
Along with their antioxidants, pomegranates have antimicrobial properties which can target bacteria in the mouth. Their juicy flavor is above all the best benefit of eating them!
We love the sweet tartness of pomegranate paired with the creaminess of panna cotta. Do you have a favorite dessert you’d love to see on the Rootastes menu? Comment below!
